Understand Your Cats' Toileting Habits

Hi LitterLens frurriends! đŸ„° I am Raewyn, one of the users of LitterLens~ So far, my experience with the LitterLens has been good!!

I have three cats and two of them are indoor Bengals, a boy named Lynx and his sister Gula. Attach pictures of my two monkeys! I wanted to join up to try LitterLens to see whether it could be of help with Gulas' toileting issues. Gula used to have urinary system issues. At the time, I just noticed she was peeing everywhere and thought she was just being naughty.

After a few months, we took her to the vet and found she had crystals in her bladder. Have any of you had this problem? We later found out that she was anxious because of the outdoor cat. She has been put on clomicalm meds, and this has helped, but it took maybe 4 months. I felt really awful. I didn’t know how long she had been dealing with this. And if I had realized sooner, maybe she wouldn’t have been spraying so frequently and wouldn't have gone through so much pain.

I placed several litter boxes around the house, but I still couldn’t constantly monitor Gula’s litter box habits. Plus, with multiple cats, it was hard to know which one was using which box. We did install a pet camera in the area of the lounge/kitchen to try to catch her, but it would take too long to sift through all the footage to check if it was her using our litter boxes or not.

That's why I love LitterLens, the AI litter tracker. It is so up and can identify the correct cat. It also helps me understand that if she is just mucking around in the litter boxes and scratching for a long time but not actually weeing, that I probably have to give it another clean (as she is over the top fussy).

One day, I got an alert that Gula had stayed in the litter box for too long. I immediately checked the video footage and saw that Gula had been digging around in the box for a while but hadn’t actually used it. Gula might be unhappy with the litter, or perhaps something else was wrong! So I took Gula to the vet right away, where she confirmed that Gula didn’t like the current litter. The vet suggested switching to a different kind and monitoring her behavior closely.

Thanks to LitterLens, I can make sure whether she’s getting an infection again and whether she’s using the litter box at least once a day. This way, we can detect crystals in the urinary system or bladder problems early.

All in all, I think LitterLens is a great design, perfect for the health checks that it promises. I would highly recommend it to any cat parent who is concerned about their cat's health, especially those dealing with urinary issues.

What do all you users think so far? I'm interested to hear your thoughts!
