Which litter boxes are compatible and where should I install the camera?

LitterLens is designed for flexibility. Here’s how to get the best placement for your box type:

For Standard Boxes (Open-Top, High Sided, or Enclosed): You have two options: mount it on a flat inner side of the litter box or on an adjacent wall. Use the "Live View" in the app to find the perfect angle that sees the entire litter area.
For Automatic (Smart) Boxes: Compatibility depends entirely on finding a suitable mounting spot. You can mount it on a flat inner wall of the cabin only if you can find a spot that meets these four rules:
It is a flat surface for the adhesive.
It does NOT obstruct any moving parts (like rakes or a rotating globe).
It does NOT block your cat's access.
It allows a full, clear view of the entire litter area.

If no spot inside your smart litter box meets all four of these requirements, it is not compatible.

How do I know if I've positioned the camera correctly?

After setup, check the live view in "Real-time" on the homepage and mannually adjust the angle of the camera. Make sure that the litter box is at the bottom of the view and the entire litter area is visible.
